ADB manufactures hoist rings of various sizes that range in capacity from 400 pounds up to 250,000 pounds.

ADB hoist rings provide a 5:1 design factor in any

direction, from 0–90° to the mounting screw (zero working load reduction when angular loads are applied), with a cycled fatigue rated up to 20,000 cycles. A 5:1 design factor means the ultimate product failure of a new hoist ring would be at five times the stated load

factor—an almost unimaginable weight, especially for larger hoist rings. And all ADB hoist rings are engineered to meet or exceed the user requirements of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B30.26, 2015–Rigging Hardware standards. Bradshaw, a ten-year veteran with ADB, manages all aspects of the company to ensure they’re meeting production and quality objectives. Recently the company transitioned successfully from having an ISO9001:2008 registered quality system to the current ISO9001:2015 quality management system. He explained that, during manufacturing, each hoist ring follows a proven routing process, which includes redundant in-process inspections and also significant non-destructive testing for the

inspection of material deficiencies. During the final stage of manufacturing, each hoist ring is proof tested and functional inspections are performed which provides the users additional assurances. Ultimately, Bradshaw believes that experience sets

ADB apart from competitors. “Being that ADB is the originator of the hoist ring, and since 1964, the primary focus has been the hoist ring, the design experiences along with user interaction and assistance has exposed the company to nearly any situation related to lifting points,” he said. “Tese experiences, in our opinion, make us the most credible and experienced when it comes to hoist ring knowledge.”

Looking ahead, as the company continues to

enjoy steady growth, it seems as if the new warehouse can’t come fast enough. In fact, earlier this year, ADB experienced a record production month. One could imagine that such growth is owed in some part to a willingness to adapt and re-invent and expand as demands evolve—perpetually committed to safety. “Our focus is to remain innovative,” said Scolaro.

“We’re looking for whatever opportunities might present themselves.” y
