Casey Crouch Cut-


ting Horses, Corsicana, had a spectacular NCHA Western Nationals show in Denver in late June. First Chaser Crouch was Sr Youth champion on GS Zans Cat, and then Casey won the $25K Novice title on the Delange Family’s Louis the Cat. Last, Tyler Delange won the $35K NP also on Louis the Cat!


Emma Grace Marangas, Zachary, LA, won trophy buckles for


HP English Horseman and HP Western Horseman June 26 at the Southeast District 4-H and FFA Horse Show in Amite. She was rid- ing Shesa Sleepy Zippo.


Tamra Lott, Madisonville, and Metalena won the NP with a 75


at Bluebonnet CHA’s June 29 event in Brenham. Debbie Hodde, Brenham, and her home-bred and raised 3-year-


old, Couture Blue Genes, did great at the Big A, Show for the Dough, and Performance Quarter Sires (PQS) shows in Conyers, GA, June 29-July 6. Beth Case, Pilot Point, rode in open classes, and Hodde in amateur/np. At the Big A, the horse earned circuit championships for 3 HUS classes – jr, amateur, and green. At the PQS, he earned 3 futu- rity championships in HUS classes – 3-yo open, 3-yo lmtd-np, and 3-yo lmtd-horse/lmtd rider. In the Show for the Dough, he won two 3-yo fu- turity HUS championships. Preston’s prize money exceeded $12,000!


Kim McCarty, Fredericksburg,


and Some Kinda Scoot won the cir- cuit award for the $35K NP division at Big Country QHA’s June 29-July 1 show in Sweetwater.


Jim Breck Bean and Russell


Garlick won the #13 to earn good checks at the West of the Pecos Team Roping Classic, held July 30.


Ty Cornelius, Mount Pleasant,


AR, was awarded a $2,000 scholar- ship June 30, at the Bank of America Youth Excellence Seminar in Bryan. The 2017-2018 AQHyA outgoing president attends AR State Univer- sity in Jonesboro.
