BUSINESS WEST MEMBER NEWS inform IN BRIEF The eco-friendly Aurora office at Finzels Reach
Aurora office the light choice for media firms
A standalone office on the ground floor of Aurora, the landmark green office building being developed speculatively at Finzels Reach, is being fitted out to appeal to companies in Bristol’s burgeoning tech and media sector. Studio A, a 3,160 sq ft self- contained space for up to 40 people, has its own separate entrance, reception and private facilities, making it ideal for one of the companies spinning out of spaces such as Engine Shed, which are struggling to find room in the city to grow. With exposed services in the ceiling and a more ‘funky’
interior design, Studio A still benefits from the ‘super-green’ credentials, lower running costs and high quality of the rest of the building.

Data identifies the UK’s cashless capitals
Analysing data of nationwide transactions from 2017, Paymentsense has created an interactive map exploring the UK’s cashless capitals, detailing the cities with the highest proportion of debit, credit, contactless and all transactions. It also ranked the 10 top cities for cashless payments. To further understand consumer spending habits and opinion, payment solutions specialists Paymentsense also conducted a study of 2,000 UK residents to reveal their payment preferences. The study finds that contactless transactions are more popular among younger spenders, as 41% Brits aged 18-24 said it was their favourite form of payment compared to just under 10% of people aged 55+. This suggests that even though many are worried about security, increasing numbers are using this form of payment. Another interesting finding is that 30% of our respondents claimed they would go to another shop if the vendor didn’t accept card payments.
for removal firm Bath-based Chamber member, AJ Removals & Deliveries has added to its main office at Stable Yard Industrial Estate in Bath by taking Units 1 and 6 at Old Station Business Park on Wells Road. The property comprises a warehouse/industrial unit with dock levellers, level loading bays and associated offices. Carter Jonas, on behalf of
private landlord J. A. Pitt (Hallatrow) Ltd, has let 16,000 sq ft of space at Old Station Business Park in Hallatrow, near Bristol, to the removal, storage and shipping company on a 15-year lease. Alan Kerrison, managing director
of AJ Removals & Deliveries, said: “After growing to be Bath’s largest independent removal company, we’re excited to be the only company in the city to offer a wide range of storage options within our own indoor facility. “By tailoring the packages to our
customers, we’re confident we can offer the most competitive prices.”
As you may know, Business West is joining a national campaign for ‘No More Not Spots’, with the aim of ending not spots for voice coverage where phone users live, work, travel and play. Not spots are those annoying areas where you lose your mobile phone signal. The campaign
recently hit its first major landmark, with 1,000 not spots now logged.
Businesses and individuals
can log a not spot with the BCC at
britishchambers.org.uk Or, tell them about it on Twitter using the hashtag #ShareYourNotSpots.
Visit Bath have moved away from specialist tourism web agency to launch their new website with a local agency. Following a year-long
design project, and as a result of feedback from user focus groups and Visit Bath members,
visitbath.co.uk has been updated with a more modern look and feel and a more intuitive user journey. The new website was developed in collaboration with Touchpoint Design, a small independent Bath-based design agency who Visit Bath had worked with on previous website projects and a brand identity process.
