LIVE 24-SEVEN - BUSINESS

HEWETT RECRUITMENT WORCESTER STANDS TALL GIRAFFE TRAIL

They lived in Africa for many years and I know they would love the idea of supporting the hospice in this way. I was always tall for my age, and rather self-conscious as a young girl when I stood so much taller than my peers. I remember my mum playing that very old Val Doonican song ‘Walk Tall’ as I left for school on many occasions.

My parents instilled the values that guide me, my business and my family to this day. Stand tall, be kind, be strong and give back to the community around you.

July sees the launch of the Worcester Stands Tall Giraffe trail. Excitement has been mounting as glimpses of these beautiful creatures have been tweeted, shared and liked all over social media. For 10 weeks from July 9th , Worcester streets, parks and open spaces will be brought to life by majestic fun and captivating giraffes painted by well-known and yet undiscovered artists.

When I first heard about this project it all seemed to make perfect sense! I decided to sponsor a giraffe not only because I’m a supporter and patron of St. Richard’s Hospice, who will benefit directly from funds raised but also as a tribute to my mum and dad, Doris and Gregory Meacheam who I lost within 6 weeks of each other 3 years ago.

I was delighted to meet the talented young local artist who created and painted the design I selected for our giraffe.

Suzie Hunt is a

budding local artist who shows much promise and has worked as ‘Artist in Residence’ at the University of Worcester. We love encouraging young talented people at Hewett Recruitment and Suzie is a wonderful example of home grown talent!

The giraffe trail is a great opportunity for families to explore the city and see the extraordinary designs using different medians and techniques.

The large giraffe sculptures will eventually be auctioned to raise more money for St. Richard’s - so if you fancy owning your very own giraffe… step forward!
