always commenting on how inspiring and motivating the atmosphere is! On the marketing side, word of mouth
and a few social media posts are all that are required. Our brand and reputation have grown over the years and we are recognized as experts in elite hockey development. The Hamilton area has multiple orga-
nizations with multiple teams of various ages and is a breeding ground for excel- lent athletes, especially hockey players. So our year-over-year effort-to-result ratio is very low. We have clients who come back year after year even though new facilities promising similar results at half the price continue to open. Our coaches look forward to it every year as it generates a good pay cheque for them and they love doing it. When I first started this program,
there were only a handful of players. Today I still coach and mentor many of the same players, and one of them now works for me as a strength coach and on- ice instructor. Year after year we love the messag-
es received from players and their par- ents thanking us for helping their son or daughter improve their physical abili- ties, mindset and life skills. We take great pride in having a positive impact on our client’s lives and are grateful for the opportunity to do so. For example, this year we’re hosting our 1st Annual ‘Night with the Pros’ where our profes- sional athletes share tips for young play- ers, stories about how they got where they are today, and what they wish they had known when they were younger. This is a free event at our facility and is a great opportunity for our local youth athletes to soak up some wisdom. Sometimes it’s not just about the
numbers. I totally believe in monitoring metrics, and we do this at a very detailed level. But I also believe in looking at the impact of a program. If it does some- thing special, then chances are the num- bers will take care of themselves.

mediately and positions us to better compete against national and international competition. We are partly owned by our management team, most of whom have built their careers inside the company, and we are sponsored by TriWest Capital Partners, an Alberta-based private equity firm,” says David Brodmann, president.
