Billed as Orlando’s oldest and largest pet walk, PAWS IN THE PARK 2018 attracted more than 10,000 people and their pets on February 10. As with every year, the event, hosted by Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando, took place in beautiful Lake Eola Park. There were vendors, food trucks, Disney Fun Zone and interactive events for the dogs including dock diving and lure coursing.

What really knocked us out was his cheap sunglasses. Yup, that’s ZZ Top. No really, that’s the dog’s name.

Craft breweries are popping up all over Florida, faster than any beer lover can down a growler. For the most part, they are dog friendly, so fundraising events are a natural. Pinellas Ale Works, affectionately known as PAW, does a lot with local shelters and rescue groups including Pet Pal Animal Shelter and Friends of Strays. In February, Pet Pal Animal Shelter held their fifth Pup Crawl, raising $3,000 for the shelter. As usual, the starting point/sign up site was at PAW.
