plant city

Dogs and their humans took over the monthly Food Truck Rally during Plant City’s first Bark in the Park, hosted by Plant City Main Street. The Plant City Observer described the event as a little “ruff” around the edges as dogs descended on McCall Park. The highlight of the January evening event was, of course, the Wiener Dog Derby race. Dachshund winners included Gracie, who crossed the finish line first, then Missey, who was second, followed by Harley. It was a fun event for families of all ages and their dogs. THE MARDI GRAS ON MAINSTREET DOG PARADE in DeLand was a smashing success. In fact, the parade line up was completely sold out, and the weather was perfect. Dogs and their humans lined up and took to the streets to show off their costumes. This was the 20th year of the parade, and the theme was Hollywood Hounds. Sponsored by the Krewe of Amalee and presented by the MainStreet DeLand Association, the event takes place in Historic Downtown DeLand, attracting an estimated 30,000 people and their dogs.
