A special award is given each year to the Show's Grand Hunter in honor of Judy Carrig an. This year's winner was Jef Lauwers with Screen shot receiving the perpetual trophy from Patrick Rodes.
Texas Shoot Out Wrap Up The Texas Shoot Out horse show was held April 25-29 at the Texas Rose Horse Park
under beautiful weather. The 3’/3’3 $5000 Texas Green Super Stake was held on Thursday and Courtney Lenkart took the blue on Like Always, owned by Jana and Patrick Rodes (also capturing the $1000 USHJA Incentive class). Second went to Peter Pletcher riding Susan Baker’s Just So and third went to MTM Sunshine owned by MTM Farm and ridden by Dorothy Douglas.
Thursday in the jumper ring, the $7500 Welcome Stake was held and Tracy Fenney
on MTM Farm’s horses had a great day, finishing first with MTM Reve Du Paradis, second with MTM Como No and third with Igor Van De Heibos. The $10,000 USHJA International Derby was held Friday afternoon with sunny skies and and a great party sponsored by Brawley Farm. Dorothy Douglas riding Abigail Dav- enport’s MTM Exceptional led the victory gallop with the blue ribbon. MTM Farm kept the theme going with Tracy Fenney taking second place riding MTM Outbid and third on MTM Silver Alert.
Also on Friday the EMO $5000 Jumper Classic was held with MTM Simone owned by MTM Farm and ridden by Brian Moggre taking home the blue. Quidditch owned by Gi- anna Aycock and ridden by Tiffany Lee was second and Ebony M owned by Kerry Anne LLC and ridden by Kristen Collins took home the yellow ribbon. The show’s feature event was the $30,000

CWD Texas Shoot Out Grand Prix on Satur- day. Marina Azevedo set a challenging course that had seven horses return for the speed round. Riders where decked out in aqua polo shirts sponsored by A and J Design. Meagan Snoots, the CWD rep, presented the blue ribbon to Brian Moggre on MTM Flutterby, owned by Major Wagner, LLC. Second went to MTM Reve Du Paradis and Tracy Fenney and third was Brian’s other ride, MTM Vivre Le Reve. w
