Powerhire carries out loadbank testing
in London AMPS member Powerhire recently carried out loadbank testing of 4 x 1500kVA permanent Generators at premises in the heart of the City of London.
The generators had to be tested to
prove their functionality in the event of a mains power outage to the building. The test also had to be carried out over a weekend. “Generator No. 1 and No. 2 were tested successfully on day 1 followed by Generator no. 3 and no. 4 on day 2 with our engineers applying an initial load of 25% with an increase of 25% steps over a 15 minute period with each generator running at 100% load for a period of 4 hours,“ explained a spokesman. After a successful weekend, the
generators were cleaned, permits were signed off and the customer was left happy.

Panel upgrade job was completed at an exclusive address in London’s Mayfair. The Generator Company had been contacted by a client to quote for design, build, supply and installation upgrade of an out-of- date control panel and GCB panel, based on the roof. The upgrade involved the installa-
tion of a Deep Sea Electronics control module which was previously bench tested by Generator Company to verify the operation of the control circuits. This test ensured that the generator would start to provide power for the site under certain conditions during an outage.
