Acciona to build 145MW windfarm in
Texas, US Spanish renewable energy company Acciona Energía planned to build the 145MW Palmas Altas windfarm in Texas, US. Acciona Energía will be investing $200m for constructing the new windfarm, which will be equipped with 46 of Nordex’s AW3150 wind turbines, with a rotor diameter of 125m.

JinkoSolar to supply 2.75GW solar modules to NextEra
Energy in US JinkoSolar Holding signed an
agreement to supply solar modules to US company NextEra Energy. Under the deal, JinkoSolar will pro- vide up to 2.75GW of high-efficiency solar modules to NextEra Energy over a four-year period. The Chinese manufacturer plans to open its first manufacturing facility in Jacksonville, Florida, US, and expects to create more than 200 direct jobs in the state.
Duke Energy Florida’s natural gas plant to provide
clean energy Duke Energy Florida reports it is on schedule to deliver clean and reliable energy through its natural gas plant, being built in Citrus County. The new 1.6GW combined-cycle, two- unit plant has been designed to generate energy using new tech and clean-burning natural gas. A new £5.6 million deal will see Vital Energi provide combined heat and power for 955 apartments over 12 blocks, along with low temperature hot water and chilled water systems. Vital Energi will be completing the co-ordination of a design by engineering firm Max Fordham, with the basement energy centre including a combined heat and power engine, two 1300kw gas boilers, and four 550kw chillers. The development at Prince of Wales Drive, next to Battersea Power Station, is
one of the first projects to be delivered by St William, a joint venture between Berkeley Group and National Grid. The joint venture aims to unlock complex regeneration sites in London and the south of England. The JV has a number of plans to develop 33 sites, providing more 14,000 homes within the next 15 years. Vital Energi regional director Rob Callaghan told WIP: “We are excited to be working with the Berkeley Group again on an exciting new venture, and to be part of this fantastic project that will see further regeneration to the area. “Prince of Wales Drive will be a beautiful development, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to provide the energy solution for the project.” Vital Energi has worked with Berkeley
Group on 16 other projects since 2006 when work began at the Royal Arsenal, Riverside development.
Centrica plc launches its distributed energy and power proposition in North America under the new Centrica Business Solutions banner
Centrica Business Solutions has been established to help customers harness the
power of distributed energy across three key strategy areas – energy insight; energy optimisation; and energy solutions, including combined heat and power (CHP), solar, battery storage and standby generators, reports the company. As part of this development, Panoramic Power Energy Insights, ENER-G Combined Heat and Power, and Rudox Power Generation have been integrated into Centrica Business Solutions, and will work with Centrica’s Direct Energy Business team to put customers in control of their energy. “Energy powers businesses.
