Law firm Pinsent Masons has announced 23 major promotions – including two in its Birmingham office. Commercial litigation expert,

Andrew Herring (pictured), has been promoted to position of partner. Andrew is recognised as a

‘notable practitioner’ of commercial litigation and he will now be responsible for developing the firm’s regional commercial counter-fraud and asset recovery practice. He is a successful trial litigator

who specialises in conducting complex, multi-party, commercial litigation that has included appearing before the Supreme Court. Andrew is the sitting vice-chair of the Midlands

Fraud Forum, which is the largest counter-fraud NGO outside London, as well as an ADR Group Accredited Mediator and member of the Commercial Fraud Lawyers Association Also in Birmingham, Faye Moore has been

promoted to the position of legal director. Faye has advised on a variety of commercial

disputes and has a particular focus on the universities and higher education sector.

Greg Lowson, head of Pinsent

Masons Birmingham office, said: “The promotion of these individuals is an indication of our investment in Birmingham and to developing our home grown talent. “These promotions also highlight

our ability to offer complex and innovative support for businesses locally and internationally.” Almost one third of the lawyers

being promoted are based outside of the UK. The firm maintained a steady pace of international expansion in 2017, launching offices in Madrid, Dublin, Johannesburg and Perth. Of the individuals promoted,

almost 90 per cent specialise in the

firm's five global sectors – Energy, Financial Services, Infrastructure, Real Estate and Advanced Manufacturing and Technology. One in four of those promoted are female. The

firm’s current gender demographic across the partnership is just over 25 per cent. During the past three years, just over 45 per cent of the firm’s internal promotions have been female as Pinsent Masons strives to reach its next milestone of 30 per cent female partnership by 2020.
