ary Peacock, Turner EPS’s General Manager for Power Generation Sales, tells UKPN: “ We are pleased to announce the launch of a

partnership with ScottishPower for the supply of Demand Side Response (DSR) Introduction Services. “Turner EPS is a leading specialist in upgrading embedded diesel generators for participation in Demand Side Response schemes, and has a well-established track record working with some of the UK’s leading retailers in this field. We also supply new generator sets and provide comprehensive generator maintenance services on a UK- wide basis.

ScottishPower, as one of the UK’s largest energy companies, has a well-established

track record of balancing markets and unlocking value within its own assets and those of both its industrial and commercial customers. On the back of this extensive experience, ScottishPower has launched a major Demand Side Response push and believes its pan- European footprint and balancing market expertise will set it apart in a crowded marketplace. ScottishPower’s Head of I&C Energy Services, William Black commented: “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Turners EPS. Through this partnership, ScottishPower will offer all Turner EPS’s customers the opportunity to monetise their onsite assets through Demand Side Response.

“Working together with Scottish Power to develop this new

partnership has been

“In return, for the first time ScottishPower’s customers will have direct access to expert advice regarding uninterruptible power supplies and back up generation plant and services.” Gary reports: “Working together with ScottishPower to develop this new partnership has been really exciting and we look forward to introducing and delivering real added value services to our customers through our combined expertise and experience to maximise their income-earning potential, while minimising the impact on their day-to-day business”. Demand Side Response is an alternative solution to balancing our energy system that offers the potential of financial rewards to businesses to turn up, turn down, or shift their electricity demand to alternative energy sources such as emergency and or standby generators that may be available. Collectively, a network of energy users

across different industries flexing their consumption in this way creates a ‘virtual power station’. This pooling of resource makes a big difference to the balance of electricity supplies across the UK when demand is high. Gary concludes: “Discover your potential to generate revenue with ScottishPower and Turner EPS.
