Kings Hill Opticians shortlisted for National Opticians Awards

Kings Hill Opticians have been named a finalist in the Independent Practice of the Year category of the prestigious Opticians’ Awards, recognised as the benchmark of excellence in the optical community.

“It’s a testimony to our great staff

and our commitment to clinical excellence and exceptional customer service – combined with exclusive products, ranging from world-leading frames and lenses through to affordable eye wear – that we are one of only six finalists in the Independent Practice of the Year Award,” commented director Satvinder Shoker, who opened Kings Hill Opticians in 2005 and is also head of the Opticians’ Department at Maidstone Hospital.

Over the past decade, the company

has grown every year, with the number of staff growing from three to 14. “Our success is largely down to word-of-mouth recommendations from our customers, many of whom have been coming to us for years because they know we offer an unwavering commitment to making sure they have the best vision possible. Our client base keeps expanding and we now have customers from all over Kent, Sussex, London and Surrey,” said company secretary Satwant Shoker.

Kings Hill Opticians insists on 40-minute eye-tests as standard and that all tests are carried out by qualified optometrists who have more than five years’ experience or work in hospital eye departments as well. “My work as the Head of Maidstone Hospital’s Opticians’ Department defines our clinical standards, and we ensure that all the tests and diagnostic equipment we use are hospital quality or better. After all, you only have one pair of eyes, so they need to be looked after properly.” explained Mr Shoker.

Kings Hill Opticians also offers an impressive range of frames and lenses: they are exclusive stockists of the LINDBERG range of Buffalo Horn frames, hold Kent’s largest collection of premium polarised Maui Jim sunglasses and offer a range of innovative products including revolutionary Varilux™ lenses, E Scoop lenses that can help improve the vision of people with macular degeneration, and contact lenses that can correct your vision overnight.
