Silver Swans continued frompage 13

Similarly, itwas extremely rewarding to learn howsuitably enriching and stimulating ballet can be for seniorswith such wide-ranging levels of ability andmobility. I originally concep- tualizedmy Silver Swans Ballet Programas one approximately 30-minute ballet class. Being able to develop it into a program of three separate and distinct ballet classes for people at all lev- els of care living in senior centers, fromindependent living, to assisted-living, tomemory and healthcare, was breathtaking.

WhereKatarina is now:

Iwas thrilled to debut on stage in a small partwith the Stuttgart Ballet’s inaugural presentation of Swan Lake on December 6, 2017! I graduated fromhigh schoolwith a 4.0 GPAlastMay, turned 16 years oldwhile at studying at the Académie PrincesseGrace (Monaco) in July, andmoved to Germany inAugust to begin full-time dance studies at the John Cranko Schule (JCS), the company school associated with the Stuttgart Ballet in September. (Iwas invited to begin studies at JCS in the fall of 2015,while studying at the Bolshoi BalletAcademy inMoscow, Russian Federation, butwaited to graduate high school first.) I have tremendously enjoyed and had a very successful first semester here at JCS, and I am proud to be a former student of LyndetteGalen and JanMiller at the Texas Ballet Theater School inDallas.

In addition, I began rehearsing as the only understudy for a contemporary ballet piece being performed by the academy in 2018.All other dancers cast have trained at the John Cranko Schule school for at least a year, and I amthe youngest cast member in the piece by roughly 18months.
