MAP | POEM | PLACE Creative Writing Poetry Workshop with Jean Atkin

A sense of place is right at the core of human experience. It involves memory, belonging, and hope for the future. How can poets engage with this? How can we bear witness to the complexities of place, people, history and nature?

Award-winning poet and education specialist Jean Atkin leads a half day workshop exploring these questions, using maps and memory to stimulate your own poems.

Jean has published a poetry collection, Not Lost Since Last Time (Oversteps Books), five pamphlets, a children’s

novel and her recent work has appeared in Magma, Agenda, Ambit, Poetry Salzburg, and The Moth.

Workshop is open to all levels of experience.

Place: Frodsham Community Centre Time: 11am - 1pm Tickets: £10, including tea/coffee.

4 Book tickets at www.weaverwords.org.uk or Box Office 0333 666 3366
