A STORYTELLER’S GUIDE TO JOY: MAKE WORDS LIVE

A creative writing workshop with David Charters

Do you want to write more entertaining articles, blogs or newsletters? Get inspiration and top tips from Liverpool Echo and ex Daily Post columnist David Charters.

“I love words,” says David. “You can pluck words from nowhere - stroke them and tease them. You can stretch and compress them like an old squeezebox player. But you must make them interesting, whether spoken or written. Storytelling was our first, and is our most enduring, form of entertainment.”

David has written for a range of national and local newspapers in a journalism career spanning more than half a century. For almost 25 years, he penned a weekly

column for the old Liverpool Daily Post and still writes the ‘Bard of Birkenhead’ column for the Echo’s Wirral edition. He has published four books, staged two plays and has a regular slot on the community station, Vintage Radio.

Don’t miss this masterclass in creating dazzling metaphors.

Place: Frodsham Community Centre Time: 11am - 1pm Tickets: £10, including tea or coffee.
