Launching new products and services, designing more efficient processes or implementing new approaches to leadership are all different types of inno- vation. Frequently, these innovations are developed by subject matter experts: new products are typically developed by R&D organizations, new processes are developed by the departments that own the processes such as IT or finance, and new leadership approaches are developed by HR. The focus on developing the new solutions is usually on the subject matter expertise and the task is delegated to the experts.
