next 10 to 15 years, investments on acquisitions in the aerospace and defense sector will be made in India. Growth potential of the industry should attract OEMs in this sector to setup facilities.


Currently all investment casting foundries producing castings related to aerospace, defense and nuclear power are state-owned. The government is increasing defense budget and has undertaken several projects in line with the make in India campaign. However, very slow and time-consuming tender processes may hinder the entry of private players. Indian produced investment castings serving aerospace, defense and nuclear power sectors together is about 5% of the total investment castings produced in India.


1. Commercial casting sales remain extremely competitive and it is hoped that growth levels can be maintained.


2. Indian investment casting industry with a consensus forecast for 2018 reflects a modest growth of estimated 3%.


3. 2017 investment casting automotive sales have increased.
