Santa Rosa, CA. ~ In early 2017 I had the honor of speaking to a retired audience of over 125 retired senior citizens out in Oakmont at the Berger Center. I wrote about it a month lat- er. At the time of my speech, one gentleman stood up dur- ing question time and said my informa- tion incorrect because on the cover of the paper it says ‘SINCE 1998’. I mentioned to them I actually started in 1997, which I did. Like any good idea, it takes planning. But not al- ways do I plan everything out. In 1997, I went with my gut. I wanted to see if my idea would work, so that I could spend my time and money in Sonoma County where I grew up, pub- lishing only good news. It was a test that was highly successful! Sometimes a person just has


to dive in. An old saying that a person should jump off a cliff and build a parachute on the way down can work too! Reid Hoffman, one of the founders of LinkedIn, said: ‘Entrepre- neurship is jumping off a cliff and assembling a plane on the way down’ , a similar perspec- tive. To this day, it is even more so.

Abalone are any of several species of gastropod mol- lusks, genus Haliotis, a type of marine sea snail. They have a single broad flattened shell with a row of holes on one side of their shell, which is lined with an iridescent mother of pearl.
