Santa Rosa, CA. ~ We are all stronger than we ever were... that is for sure. Of the many people I have met as well as all the people I know person- ally who lost everything in the fi res, it is amazing how they are all resolved to keep mov- ing forward. That is the theme amongst many people I know, and one of them is George Fiori. To me, he is a great guy, friend and entrepreneur. His business, Fiori’s Buns

and Burgers, located in Lark- fi eld near Molsberry’s Mar- ket on Old Redwood highway north of the LBC was literally on the edge of the fi re. Lark- fi eld Center suffered a lot of smoke damage, but is now up and operating

again. George

says, “What do you do? You just keep moving on, what else can I do?” He personally was in Hawaii on vacation with his wife when he got the call that he had lost everything. The Up- beat Times found out when we called him to make sure he was ok.

His business could use some support from the community since he has been closed for nearly 3 months. He wanted us to mention he

is offering a special that is only $6.00 and includes his famous burger, fresh french fries and a soda. (It is normally a little over $10) It’s amazing he is giving in a time of his own needs. Please tell him we sent you! Tele- phone: (707) 546-6835. Store is located at: 406 Larkfi eld Center ~ Santa Rosa, CA 95403

HOLIDAY FRUIT CAKE RECIPE

You will need the follow- ing: A cup of water, a cup of sugar, four large brown eggs, two cups of dried fruit, a teaspoon of salt, a cup of brown sugar, lemon juice, nuts, and a bottle of whiskey. Sample the whiskey and check for quality. Take a large bowl. Check the whis- key again. To be sure it is the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink. Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer, beat one cup of butter in a large fl uffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar and beat again. Make sure the whiskey is still okay. Cry another tup. Turn off the mixer. Beat two leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Mix on the tuner. If the fi red druit gets stuck in the beaterers, pry it loose with a drews- criver. Sample the whiskey and check for tonsisticity. Next, sift two cups of salt. Or something. Who cares? Check the whiskey. Now sift the lemon uice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Spoon. Of sugar of some- thing. Whatever you fi nd.

Grease the oven. Turn the cake tin to 350 degrees. Don’t forget to beat off the turner. Throw the bowl out of the window. Check the whiskey again and go to bed.
