FOGBELT Is World Class!

IBU. The ABV is the alcohol by volume. We can all relate to what that has to do with beer! The IBUs are for the International

Bittering

Units. This gives you an idea of the hop content, and bitterness the beer will project to the palate. This beer was a great ex- ample of a blonde ale, low to moderate alcohol, with low bittering. This is light, easy-drinking ale, perfect for those that don’t care for the bitter- ness of an IPA.

Sonoma County, CA. ~ So- noma County has rightfully established its spot as a world -class wine producer. We have also carved out our place on the map as a leader in craft brew- eries. The day we visited, they had 12 beers on tap. They of- fer a sampler of all beers for $22. With so many to choose from we decided to narrow our selection to eight giving us a good sampling of their styles and fl avors. The fi rst beer we sampled was Atlas, a Blond Ale that was 5.4 ABV and 19

The next beer we tried

was Yellow Vine, a Bel- gian Golden Ale with a 6.1 ABV and 24 IBU. This was a great example of a Belgian Ale. They added Viognier juice (white wine grape) and used Citra Hops, giving it a crisp fl oral bitterness and a fruity fl avor, common with Belgians. This was good use of Viognier juice, giving this ale a distinct new character
