For 2018 Election of the Board of Directors


The election of officers and directors shall be held at the Annual Gen-


eral Meeting of the Association at the Holiday Inn, Guelph on Saturday January 27, 20178 at 1 p.m., as designated by the Board of Directors. The ORHA Nominating Committee will accept nominations for the positions of First Vice President and two Directors. Current Candidates are as follows:

Entry Level Classes


Reining is the fastest growing equine sport today and getting started has never been easier.Both the Ontario Reining Horse Association (ORHA) and the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) offer tiered entry level classes allowing beginner riders the opportunity to compete against others with similar skill levels, gain experience and have fun. For all entry level class, participants are NOT required to own their own horse and the horse does not need a competition licence to compete.

Green As Grass


Eligibility


Riders, who has never shown in any ORHA Non-Pro or ORHA Youth ORHA or NRHA classes (other than ORHA or NRHA Short Stirrup, NRHA Green Reiner, Green as Grass Youth or Green as Grass Non-Member), may show in this class until the end of the year in which 50 points have been accumulated.


Green As Grass – Youth


Riders must be 16 or under as at January 1 that year, who has never shown in any ORHA or NRHA classes (other than ORHA or NRHA Short Stirrup, NRHA Green Reiner, Green as Grass Youth or Green as Grass Non- Member), may show in this class until the end of the year in which 50 points have been accumulated.


Beginner


Riders, who has only ever shown in ORHA classes or NRHA Green Reiner or Short Stir- rup (but not shown in Advanced Beginner), may compete in this class until the end of the year in which 50 points have been accumu- lated in this class


Advance Be- ginner


Riders may compete in this class indefinitely as well as in any other ORHA class or NRHA Green Reiner the same year, except the Green As Grass, Green As Grass Youth, ORHA Youth or Beginner.


Reiner 1 Reiner 2 Green Green


Less than $200 lifetime NRHA earnings, less than 75 youth points (exclude SS), less than 200 Green points.


Less than $350 lifetime NRHA earnings, less than 175 youth points (exclude SS), less than 350 Green points.


Memberships Patterns


ORHA Non-Pro or ORHA Youth


The rider can choose to ride with one or two hands and NRHA patterns 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 11 or 13 are used.


ORHA Youth


The rider can choose to ride with one or two hands and NRHA patterns 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 11 or 13 are used.


ORHA Non-Pro or ORHA Youth


The rider can choose to ride with one or two hands and NRHA patterns 1-13 are used.


ORHA Non-Pro or ORHA Youth


Riders must ride one-handed. NRHA patterns 1-13 are used.


NRHA Associate, Youth or Non-Pro


NRHA Associate, Youth or Non-Pro


Riders can choose to ride with one or two hands as well as can choose to perform simple or flying lead changes and NRHA patterns 1-13 are used.
