CRHRA News CRHRA board members are deeply
saddened by the passing of Derek Glass; he will be missed by all that knew him. Derek donated our booth display and always showed up to work the booth no matter how he felt. He was passionate and devoted to everything he did. Rest in peace Derek!!!! Also a correction of our Regional Reps:
Mark Dobrindt, Niagara John Aston, Windsor, Liz Franks, York Region Sid Kerr, East of Lindsay Patrick Connor, Kingston Jack de Wit, Whitby Bonnie Simpson, North of Lindsay Heather Aitken, Fergus and surrounding areas
We are always looking for regional reps
from any area. There can be more than one rep in any given area as this is a large province. Please send your info to Bonnie at
operationsmanager@crhra.ca if you would like more information or to submit your name for a regional rep position. All directors are automatically regional
reps. OUR APPLICATION FORMS FOR
2018 WILL BE READY IN DECEMBER ON LINE.

The horse and mountain bike issue that
has gone on in the Dufferin Forest was pre- ventable if the horse community would work together through CRHRA. Many of these issues do not reach the organizations that are skilled to deal with these until the last minute. Many consultants that are hired to do twenty year plans are not horse people and do not have any idea how many horses frequent the areas in question. Mavis Mc- Callum started the Ontario Trail Riders and the Ontario Trails Council years ago to be the go to organizations for trail development and trail rides to encourage use and safety for all equestrians. Mavis had a vision that was GREAT and she worked tirelessly to obtain this. We need more people like Mavis she
was amazing and it was an honour to know her and to have worked with her. I learned so much!!!! Since then other organizations have come and went in the effort to fill this gap. That is why the CRHRA was formed so that there would be no gap between the people developing trails for users and the equestrians that use them. In order for us to operate at optimum
capacity we have to have the support of all the horse groups. To achieve this we encour- age you to go to our website and join as an association and keep us as the first call you make when something is happening in your area.
We need to be involved in the begin-
ning not the end! Our connections are great and our directors are experienced in these matters. Contact Jack if you have any questions
about joining.
