At a time when schools are under immense pressure to narrow their curriculum to focus on core subjects, Lytchett Minster School continues to offer its students a rich and varied curriculum.
We have a fantastic reputation for being one of the top schools in the county for Performing and Creative Arts, and this reputation was only enhanced by the superb production of Beauty and the Beast. The general consensus was that this production “would not have been out of place in London’s West End”. Congratulations and thank you to all of the students and staff who committed so much time and energy into making the show such a success, with three sell-out performances.
Congratulation also to our school jazz band who recently performed at the BIC in Bournemouth at the start of the prestigious Dorset Business Awards Gala. This is the second time our jazz band has been invited to support a major function organised by the Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Our Art Department put on a fantastic exhibition of creative work by our A-Level Art, Photography
and Textiles students. The exhibition was followed by our popular annual School Christmas Concert involving our talented singers and musicians.
Students continue to fl ourish in the creative subjects here at Lytchett and we are rightly very proud of our strong reputation in these areas.
