I haven’t even contemplated buying a single present yet and I am now just slightly beginning to panic as it dawns on me that due to all the early sales, Black Fridays, Cyber Mondays whatever they are, that all the things my children have requested will no longer be available! Luckily I will need to go no further than scour the pages of this December edition, which reveal some of the finest gifts and products available throughout the Cotswolds and Wye Valley regions. I am particularly looking forward to visiting what is known as the Independent Quarter of Hereford, Church Street, which is a unique area that advocates individual boutiques, cafes, jewellers and artisan producers galore. It is fabulous that places like this still exist in Britain though they are far too few and we must all ensure we support them for their individuality.
For those living or heading to the Cotswolds over the Christmas period you will find an array of wonderful activities to entertain the whole family. What about a bit of rubber duck racing at Bibury on Boxing Day or winter walks around the arboretums in the region.
Finally I was delighted to hear the announcement that local, Tetbury boy, HRH Prince Harry has announced his engagement to the beautiful Meghan Markle. What a lovely thing to hear at what has been at times a sad year in global news.
