After failing to persuade our gorgeous waitress to do an impression of the haka – despite a very dodgy impression by myself that had her in fits – we finished off the delightful dining experience with a seasonal crumble with clotted cream ice-cream, which has swayed me from disliking pumpkin and raisins to thoroughly enjoying them, something I never thought possible.
If you want to feel like you’ve gone ‘out-out’, as in enjoyed a restaurant as much for its location, décor and staff as much as you have the food, if you want to feel like you’ve embraced a bit of history in first class foodie style, then The Lygon Arms Bar & Grill is just the place.
Take a walk around Broadway before or afterwards and at Christmas time it’s lit up beautifully with lights decorating all the trees.
