At Brion Reiff ’s shop in Brooklin they have just started building this 36-foot schooner, designed by Brion. She will be plank on frame, cedar over oak, and will be done for next season.

center console runabout for a customer from Montauk, New York. She will also be delivered mid-Fall. In the back of the shop, is a General
Marine 26 hull, which is being fi nished out as a commercial boat powered with a 330-hp Volvo diesel for a fi sherman from Rockland. In the shop to the side is a Northern Bay
38, which is being fi nished off as a pleasure boat for a customer from Gloucester, Mas- sachusetts.

The work included upgrading the elec- trical system, adding batteries, a foundation cable, lights and they installed a compass. A Hause 51, a new boat, is in to have
a solar panel array added, as well as a wind generator, and scuba compressor. She is headed out early in October for Bermuda.
A Bavaria 50 is receiving a new electri-
cal foundation, batteries, wires, which will take about a month to complete. All summer long they were busy and
the work included a couple of paint jobs, a couple of repowers, installing a bow thrust- er, adding electronics on a few boats, and putting down a new cabin sole in a Sabre 34.
Casey Yacht Enterprises in Freeport is
doing end of season maintenance on a num- ber of boats, which will then be transported to their owner’s yard. Presently in the yard is an Etchell 22,
which is in to have her bottom touched up. Another Etchell is in to have her core repaired. A Viper 640, which was built in England with several sailing out of Mar- blehead, went the ground and suff ered keel damage. The keel has been removed and is being repaired. The cockpit only suff ered minor damage to its sole and this is also being repaired. A J-27 and a J-24 is also having a small amount of work done. The Mussel Ridge 28, which was in last
winter for extensive refurbishing, will return this winter for additional work. This winter they will be working on her interior, adding cabinets, a small galley and a teak and holly sole.

bay is progressing well on the Gloucester schooner ERNESTINA-MORRISSEY. All her frames are up, and they are now work- ing on her two sets of stringers. There is no ceiling and they will proceed to work on the upper clamp arrangement and start roughing out her deck beams. She is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2018. The ship FRIENDSHIP OF SALEM,
which is being worked on by Boothbay Har- bor Shipyard at Gloucester Marine Railway in Gloucester, MA, is underway once again. The repair work was on the forward section of the hull underneath the foremast, which is all repaired and now they are putting her back together. She will be done this winter. The yard just delivered a Navy tug,
which belongs to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery. She was in for some minor sandblasting, zincs and paint. Boothbay Harbor Shipyard won the
contract to make the repairs to KATAHDIN up on Moosehead Lake. They headed up there in early October to open her up and see how extensive the repair will be. The repairs are on the upper deck around the cabin where water is getting in and leaking down inside the vessel. It is expected that
