‘gin expert’, Maitre d’ LisaMarie, to recommend something to go with our deserts. My excellent white chocolate panna cotta waspaired with Williams Chase grapefruit gin and Jan’sapple, fig and almond tartetatin was perfectly compli- mented byOphirgin with red chillies, both with Fevertree tonic, and both combinations pro- nounced wonderful.

My only criticisms are1) when youplaced your knifeorfork on the odd bowl-shaped platesthey slid down into thefood, and 2) the music from the bar wastoo loud from the dining area speak- ers, although separatevolumecontrols in each room are due to be fitted shortly.

Otherwise, the friendly and enthusiastic staff,es- pecially our cheerful waitress Victoria made this amostenjoyable and lovely evening

The music from the bar! Residentpianist,Steven Reid-Williams, who has toured with Boyzone and The Undertones as well as hisown band, performs on most Friday and Saturday evenings. Outstandingboth technically and vocally, it would be worth spending an evening in the bar enjoying his music even if not dining. Iwould pay good money towatch him in adifferent context.

Overall Teatro promises to be a‘go to’ venue for lovers of finedining, arelaxed atmosphereand an essentially classyambience. Clearly no cor- ners have been cut to create Cirencester’s latest and perhapsfinestbar and restaurant. (Other dining experiences areavailable). At presentTe- atro is open in the evening from Thursday toSat- urday, and Sunday lunchtimes. There are plans to extend this gradually, and to offer themed evenings with cuisines from around the world. For those goingtosee aproduction at the Barn Theatre, apre-performance meal, from 5.30, wouldmakea complete West End experience in Cirencester.
