Teva UK Limited fully understands and appreciates how important and challenging the pharmacist’s role is. From being the fi rst contact with a healthcare professional the patient may have; to providing advice on treatments, and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals – we know it’s a challenging role and one that fully deserves to be rewarded. Of course a pharmacist brings a lot more to the role than just their knowledge.

It is a very varied profession, which requires an individual in possession of a wide range of skills and competencies – including a strong appetite for continuous learning, fi rst-class customer service skills and adaptability to implement the range of innovative new services now available through pharmacies. With the magnitude of the pharmacist’s role in mind, we at Teva are delighted to show our support to the profession through supporting the Pharmacist of the Year category at the Scottish Pharmacist Awards.

As a leading generics manufacturer, Teva are committed to the industry as a whole and we have the resources to be able to tailor our offering and provide pharmacy and pharmacists with exactly the kind of support that’s needed to allow community pharmacy in Scotland to continue with the important job of delivering fi rst class healthcare to patients. Teva UK Ltd have been around for over 80 years and supply more packs of medicine to the National Health Service than anyone else!

The team at Teva and I are extremely passionate about our customers in Scotland and we’re confi dent that we can continue to work with local pharmacy to improve health and make people feel better.

Best of luck to those individuals and teams that are nominated or who enter the Scottish Pharmacist Awards.

OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO PHARMACY

Outstanding Contribution to Pharmacy showcases and celebrates achievement among the community pharmacy sector in Scotland.

As well as highlighting the ever-increasing contribution that pharmacists make to the wider healthcare arena, this accolade is aimed at identifying appropriate role models who not only inspire, but also motivate others.

This award is aimed at fi nding and recognising an individual who has had a sustained career, which has not only made a very signifi cant contribution to the pharmacy sector, but has also provided inspiration to colleagues and peers.

The recipient will be a fi gure, who has had maximum impact on the pharmacy profession, and who is likely to have infl uenced the working lives of other pharmacists, not just over the course of the year, but over a considerable period of time.

As such, the winning nomination will provide a comprehensive record of leadership, determination and practical proof of achievement.

THE NOMINATION WILL DETAIL:

An individual with a level of dedication that goes above and beyond the call of duty. This will be evidenced through:

• Proof of major contribution to both the pharmacy profession and to the community as a whole

• Evidence of drive and determination which has been translated into practice • Demonstration of commitment to community pharmacy

(Though not part of the main assessment criteria, a strong career track record, networking, leadership and communication skills are pre-requisites and should be evidenced within the application/judging process)

EMIS Health are delighted to sponsor the Scottish Pharmacist Outstanding Contribution to Pharmacy award for the seventh year running.

Once again we are very honoured to be able to present such a signifi cant award to such highly-respected pharmacy individuals.

We deliver the most widely-used clinical software system in the UK whilst continuing to reinvest and develop new products and services to assist our customers in operating in the modern pharmacy environment.

The choice for Outstanding Contribution to Pharmacy will be tough as always and I am sure that every person recommended will have made enormous contributions to pharmacy over the years, it is unfortunate that we can only recognise one person each year.

We wish all nominees in all categories the very best of luck.
