DIG Launches—and
Continues New church school format features VBS-like stations BY KATHY SCHMIED AND JOANN JONES
If you’ve walked through the waterfall and landed in Holy Word Studio surrounded by the night sky, then you’ve seen the place where children bring God’s Word to life on the stage. If you’ve popped into Creation Station, you’ve witnessed the child-adorned sculptures making the imagery of “I am the vine and you are the branches” a concrete reality. If you’ve followed your way through the trees and emerged in the glen of Destination Discipleship, then you’ve witnessed how children have been translating scripture into being God’s hands and feet in this community. There, children created friendly, loving snack bags for Sheridan School students and offered thoughtful, caring prayers on their prayer wall. And you can’t possibly have tuned out the vibrant, enthusiastic singing and musical accompaniment coming out of Spirit Studio! Drums fashioned from buckets, rhythm instruments shaped like fruit, joyful singing…Wow! God’s spirit is moving through our senses: We can feel, see, hear, experience God’s Word!
