Media Matters Church Life app puts FPCA info on mobile devices BY CALEY OELS, FPCA COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR


The Church Life app allows First Presbyterian members to safely access a variety of church information, including the FPCA calendar and directory, where you can search for phone numbers, email addresses, and even photos of other church members. The app is free and can easily be downloaded to Android or Apple devices.


Church Life integrates with myFPCA, which is a hub for FPCA information and an excellent tool for building community in our church. You’ll find a large button for myFPCA on the church website’s home page.


Te myFPCA feature lets members obtain information from the church’s database, which uses software known as Access ACS.


Downloading the Church Life app loads many myFPCA/ Access ACS capabilities onto your phone, tablet, or other mobile device. Specific areas of the app include:


• People: Allows you to search the church directory to find member contact information—an invaluable


communications tool when working with church groups and ministries.


• My Groups: Shows specific groups that you’re involved with and other members of those groups, which


facilitates easy contact with people you reach out to the most.


• Calendar: Lists all items scheduled on the church calendar, including times and locations.


• Register: Provides access to events for which online registration is available. Fill out fields to send your


registration to the church office.


• Give: Allows you to make a secure contribution to the church as part of your regular giving or for specially


designated ministries.


Te app also answers frequently asked questions about its functions and provides notifications.


If you haven’t established a myFPCA account, start by clicking the myFPCA button on the website and clicking “Log-in Now.” Find the line that asks “Need a log-in?” and click “Click here,” then follow the registration procedure as prompted. All you need is an email address.


Once you have a myFPCA account, follow the steps below to use the Church Life app: 1. Download the app. Search for “Church Life” in the App Store for Apple devices or the Play Store for Android devices. For Blackberry and other mobile devices, enter www.churchlife.mobi from any mobile browser.


2. Log in. Use the same username and password that you use for myFPCA. Can’t remember your user name or password? Find the appropriate links where it asks “Forgot your password or user name?” Tis will send information to your email that allows you to log in.


Once you start using Church Life, you may wonder how you lived without it. Try it—it’s free!


Church Life makes data from the church database software available on mobile devices. You need a myFPCA account (register from the church website’s home page) to use the app.
