Although you might not have heard from us for a while, the Dunblane Likhubula Partnership is still alive and well!
In fact something which began more than 12
years ago in the Cathedral is now a whole community Scotland- Malawi Partnership and charity!
We’re excited to share that, next September, we hope to be welcoming 3 members of the Likhubula steering committee to Dunblane – the fi rst visit in this direction for over a decade! While plans are still in the early stages, we hope that you will want to support and be a part of what we know will be a hugely worthwhile few weeks. Watch this space!
Between now and then, we hope to share more on what our busy Partnership does – and where better to start than looking at health!?
Following 3 years of fundraising, four now-former Dunblane High School pupils have achieved their aim of providing a School Nurse service to pupils in their partner school, Chambe Secondary School.

Home visits are available in the Dunblane, Bridge of Allan & Stirling areas
The project will be implemented by another local Malawian charity, the Mulanje Mission Hospital who have a proven and successful school nursing programme in other schools in the area. Thanks to the fundraising eff orts, the girls have surpassed their original ambition as not only is a service being provided to Chambe, but also to Nansato and Pasani Primary Schools and two Nursery Schools in Likhubula. First Aid kits have been provided to the schools as well as training in First Aid to staff from each school. We are confi dent that this will have a real benefi t to thousands of young people across the Likhubula community, and look forward to hearing how the project develops.
Next issue, we hope to share news on our Bursary scheme, something we are very proud of
...it’s a busy and varied partnership!
All this does not just happen, and two very dedicated committees
in both Likhubula and Dunblane
communicate regularly – as a Partnership, we strongly believe that we are both benefi ting from our relationship. If this sounds like something that would interest you, our committee meets roughly once every 6 weeks and would welcome any enthusiastic new members. We would love to hear from you!
