Volunteering in Health is a local charity providing a range of services for elderly, frail and isolated adults
Transport and Trips Our volunteer drivers can take you to and from your medical appointment using their own cars or our wheelchair accessible vehicles. We also arrange day trips to popular destinations across Devon. To book transport or find out more, call 01626 774484.
Befriending If you feel lonely and isolated, one of our volunteer befrienders could come and visit you at home on a regular basis. We also have a telephone befriending service.
Carer Support If you care for a loved one, you can access our one-to-one support and monthly carers meetings where you can make friends that understand how hard it can be caring for a family member.
Memory Services An informal group for people living with memory problems, and for their carers. Join in with activities designed to help boost your memory and make new friends. We also offer one-to-one support.
Home Help Service Helping you stay independent at home for longer. Our DBS (criminal record) checked staff can help you with cleaning, laundry, odd jobs and gardening.

Volunteer Volunteers are an essential and much-valued part of our organisation. Whether it’s fundraising in the community, driving patients to medical appointments, helping in our office, or befriending, their contribution is vital. Volunteering is also a fun and flexible way to gain new experiences and give something back to the community. All expenses are paid and there are monthly Volunteer Get Togethers where you can meet other volunteers.
Donate Volunteering in Health relies on the generosity of individuals, companies, and grant-making bodies to fund its work. Given the growing demands on our services this is only set to increase. We pride ourselves on being a local charity with the belief that elderly and isolated adults deserve the best care and support in the community. There are many ways to support us, whether it’s buying our Christmas cards, collecting sponsorship for an event, hosting a coffee morning, or leaving a gift in your will.
