THE raison d'étre of the Teignmouth Twinning Association is to promote friendship and understanding between the residents of Teignmouth and those of our twin-town on the north Brittany coast, Perros-Guirec. The highlight of the year is the exchange

TEIGNMOUTH TWINNING

visit, when we get to meet up with our friends from the other side of the Channel. We take it in turns, and this May we visited France for a great weekend exploring the Bretton countryside and spending time meeting up with our French friends. This time round, the French will be visiting

us, and will be arriving in Devon on May 10, 2018. We will be organizing an event packed weekend which will aim to show off the very best that our region has to offer. We are looking at running a tour of Exeter, with perhaps a cruise down the Exeter Ship Canal, as well as a walking tour of Teignmouth itself. There will also be the traditional formal dinner, this year at the Langstone Cliff Hotel, as well as a civic reception held at Bitton House in Teignmouth. Two years ago the French were able to bring over 50 people across the channel

busy social programme which this year has included a wine tasting evening, the ever popular quiz night, and various other social events, which tend to be held at either the TAAG centre or the Teignmouth museum. For details of these and all our other events, visitTeignmouthtwinning.com, or follow us on Facebook www.facebook.com/teignmouthtwinning. We welcome new members and

for the trip, and we are expecting a similar number this year, so we are always keen to hear from host families who would be interested in looking after a French person for the weekend. It’s a great way to make new friends as well as take part in all the events over the actual twinning weekend. Outside of the twinning visit itself we have a

list, then please fill in the web form, which you can find on either the website or the Facebook page, or just ring us on 01626 682344.'
