In September 2012 father and son team, Chris and Jamie Brooks opened the doors to Plat- inum Tyre & Exhaust. As the name suggests, they are a work- shop specialising in the repair as well as replacement of tyres and exhausts. The business was set up with a clear mission state- ment and that is to offer custom- ers a service that is second to none but at a very competitive cost. Located at Unit 4 on St Johns


Road in Saxmundham, the workshop is ideally situated, not only for customers from Sax- mundham itself, but also the sur- rounding areas. And there are plenty of reasons why customers might be prepared to travel from slightly further afield also. It goes without saying that in


order to run a business of this nature you must have experience in the industry. Jamie is the man responsible for most of the work undertaken at Platinum Tyre & Exhaust and he has more than ten years’ experience, including time spent working at major manufacturers. With this level of experience, training and expertise you can be sure you are in good hands. Knowing that he was able to


offer customers the services of a skilled and experienced techni- cian, Jamie moved his focus to expanding the service he offers. With this in mind he now offers full servicing and repairs, as well as pre-MOT inspection work. The team found that hav- ing established a superb local reputation and loyal customer base the demand was there to increase the services offered and begin to carry out general servic- ing and repair work. In fact, the demand for general repair work has increased dramatically over the last couple of years as word has spread of the excellent ser- vice and value for money. naturally, the workshop has


been fitted with the latest equip- ment which allows Jamie to carry out work to the highest standard and in very short peri- ods of time; customers are often able to wait whilst their work is being carried out. Platinum Tyre & Exhaust can


get any brand of tyre for any make of car or light commercial vehicle up to 7.5 tonnes. How- ever, they are the main local dealer fornexen tyres which are widely regarded as a quality tyre at a budget price. There are no other dealers offering nexen

The same level of service is


offered when servicing vehicles. Though Jamie has a good selec- tion of commonly used parts in stock, if he doesn’t have the part he needs for your car then he will be able to have it ordered and in stock ready for the next day; in fact, often the same day. How- ever, this is a company that real- ly does mean what they say when talking about great value and customer service. Jamie understands how inconvenient it can be to have your car in the garage for a couple of hours or to receive an untimely expense. As such, he will make sure that if he books a job in he will get it fin- ished when he says he will, so your car is returned to you as quickly as possible. Jamie will also only do work that needs doing and if the customer is happy to have it done. Should


Jamie notice a potential future problem he will, of course, issue an advisory note but will never do any work that has not been agreed. This dedication to cus- tomer service is yet another fac- tor that helps Platinum Tyre & Exhaust stand out from the crowd. Another example of great service is the free winter check that Jamie offers. Bring your car in and he will make sure your vehicle is ready for the colder months that are soon to be upon us. Much of the work can be car-


ried out whilst you wait. For example, it will usually take Jamie no more than around 15 minutes to change a tyre. In this instance customers can take advantage of the waiting area which is bright and clean and
