Hampton Roads Icon Nathan Watts will be missed


Program (before AAU), the Hampton Wythe Little League Baseball, Hampton Parks and Recreation and the Aberdeen Athletic Association sports teams. His favorite team was the Pittsburgh Steelers and during football season, whether at home or out with friends, every game was celebrated like a Super Bowl.


He had a Mr. Nathan Watts of Hampton,


Virginia was born on December 6, 1956 in Hampton, Virginia to Jimmy and Ellen Watts. On Wednesday, June 28, 2017 he went home to be with his heavenly Father.


Nathan was always a lover of


people and sports. He played high school baseball, basketball, modeled and surrounded himself throughout his elementary, middle and high school years with a group of people that have become lifelong friends. His passion, vision and ability to create “the big picture” afforded him a long and successful career in advertising and marketing in Southeastern Virginia. It also afforded him the opportunity to do what he loved most; be with the masses! He enjoyed spending time with his Hampton High School Crabber Family, his Clear Channel WOWI 103 JAMZ Family, and his HU Soul Street WHOV 88.1 FM Family. He was founder and CEO of N-Sight Marketing and Management and promoted numerous events on the Virginia Peninsula over the years. Nathan was a mentor and coach to many of the area’s youth working with the Boo Williams Sports


twinkle in his eyes, dimples a mile long and a smile that would light up a room when


he entered. He never met a stranger and would always find himself in deep conversations discussing sports, music and current political events with people wherever he went.


Nathan was preceded in death by


his father, James Watts, Sr. Surviving to cherish his memory - his wife of 28 years, Tracye L. Watts; his daughter, Taylor S. Watts; his son, Nathan Watts II; his mother, Ellen Watts; his brothers, Jimi E. Watts, Jr. (Charlene) and Craig E. Long; his mother-in-law, Carolyn B. Mann; Godfather, Leonard ‘Butch’ Powell; an aunt, an uncle, cousins and many dear friends.


A service of worship and


celebration will be held Monday, July 3rd at 11:00 a.m., Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Temple, 3100 Butternut Drive, Hampton, VA.


Entombment


will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held from noon to 6:00 PM on Sunday, July 2nd at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home, 251 W. Queen Street, Hampton, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Deen Ball Sports, Inc. at PO Box 7647, Hampton, VA 23666-0647.

to the Lord on May 28, 2017. Clarence was born in Ahoskie, NC and raised in Norfolk. He was preceded in death by his son, Chris M. Ses-soms.


He was a retired educator and


administrator in Norfolk Public Schools, Recreation Supervisor for the VA Department of Corrections, and student teacher coordinator for Elizabeth City State University. Deacon Sessoms was an active member of First Calvary Baptist Church, a member of Omega Psi

Phi Fraternity, Inc. and held memberships in numerous organizations.


He is survived by his


loving wife, Geraldine Abbott; son, Glenn D. Sessoms (Linda) of Memphis TN; daughter, Daun S. Hester (Quincey) of Norfolk, VA and Debra Sessoms, daugh- ter-in-law of


Jacksonville,

celebration 11:30a.m. with interment at


Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Norfolk.
