Alyson Lawson Hampton University has a
tradition of preparing graduates to be leaders in their respective fields, and Alyson Lawson is no different.
Lawson graduated from Hampton
in 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Management. During her undergraduate years of study, she was an active member of the women’s golf team, the SGA Women’s Caucus and the Texas Pre-Alumni Council.
Following graduation, Lawson
spent several years working in budget analysis for organizations that include the City of Dallas, the City of Norfolk, Va., and the Hampton- Newport News Community Services Board. She also operates the Lance A.
Lemons Memorial Foundation;
a nonprofit organization created to honor a high school classmate who was killed in Dallas. Lawson says the foundation works to “empower children and youth,” and has hosted dance, basketball, and fitness camps.

position as a Business Analysis Manager for Gulf States Financial Services, Lawson has started a new venture with the world’s #1 convenience store, 7 –Eleven. Te company is hosting a nationwide contest to give one deserving female entrepreneur the chance to own and operate their own 7-Eleven franchise.

INVITATION FOR BIDS Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NRHA) will receive bids for: BOBBITT MID-RISE CARPET REPLACEMENT The Scope of work includes all supervision, labor, materials, and equipment necessary to remove and provide new carpet and resilient base for the selected Bobbitt Mid-Rise living units in Norfolk, Virginia. The work includes, but is not limited to: selective demolition, interior finishes, and related work. Bids will be received until 3:00 PM local prevailing time on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at the office of the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, 910 Ballentine Boulevard, Norfolk, Virginia, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Contract documents will be available for review at the NRHA Office of Economic Opportunities, Grandy Village Learning Center, 2971 Kimball Loop, Norfolk, VA; Builders and Contractors Exchange, Norfolk, VA; and on the Virginia Procurement Website (www.eva.
virginia.gov). A CD will be available from NRHA, 910 Ballentine Blvd., Norfolk, VA for the non-refundable price of twelve dollars (Company Check Only).
