This year’s extended fesval opens in the St. Mary’s Church Hall on Sunday June 11th with ‘A Summer Serenade’, an evening of light classical music. Tickets £5.


As usual, the Fesval offers a wide range of musical evenings: jazz, folk, swing, classical, rock and blues and brass. There are workshops during the week for starters and improvers on the ukulele, with the hope that students will give a cameo performance during the popular Empty Frets Extravaganza on Saturday June 17th.


The Fesval focus is on a different art form on June 12th, when the village hosts a Photographic Soirée…an evening in which wildlife cameraman Dr. Manuel Hinge will be showing his acclaimed film of the New Forest, ‘Ytene’. He will be accompanied by internaonal award winner, local photographer, Louis Rumis, who will be showing slides of his work in the New Forest.


Photography and the environment are a key theme in the Fesval this year. This kicks off with a Photography Walk on 31st May, during which ramblers will be encouraged to take photographs, which can then be entered into the Fesval Compeon, entled ‘Spring in the New Forest’. This walk is led by Volunteer Forest

Saturday 17th June 11.45am ‐ 5pm Finally, ‘Vintage Cars Please’….. …is the cry from the organisers, as they set about joining in with the naonwide event, organised in memory of murdered MP Jo Cox. Everton Recreaon Ground is a large flat open space and is ideal for exhibing vintage cars, so if you do have one, then please get in touch with Fesval Coordinator Cheryl Fillmore on 01590 644 865.


Thanks to Everton Nurseries, who host the final day, on Sunday 18th June, starng with a free performance by the Forest Youth Orchestra, followed by a Fathers’ Day Tea Party with Polly Morris. (Teas are pre‐bookable at the garden centre’s Camellias Restaurant) The evening finishes with foot tapping and jiving with Swing Unlimited. Evening ckets, to include a supper box, are £10 and there will be a bar.

As well as vintage cars, there will also be live music, a hog roast, refreshments, a beer tent, tombola, birds of prey, Punch and Judy, space hoppers, hula hoops and Zumba along with displays by local creave folk. Bring a picnic; everyone is welcome and tables and chairs will be provided. There is no charge, and the Recreaon Ground also offers plenty of free and safe parking.
