O

n Friday 12 May at 6.30 a DACT bus, kindly driven by Ron Turner,

with Norma making sure the youngsters behave themselves, plus three cars, Derek and Lilian Richardson, Rae Morrall and myself headed for an evening at Laser Zone in Northampton. The young people were excited about

this trip and, apart from lots of chattering and laughter, they were very well behaved.

We’d booked two session at Laser Zone with supper being served between the two games. The meal was beefburger/pizza and chips followed by a slush drink. This was bright pink and blue, but they all seemed to enjoy it!

I’m not sure about the ins and outs of the game, but I do know they must watch a safety video before each game. I also understand they form groups wearing vests and laser guns the idea being to chase and shoot your opponents. A member of staff monitors the activities. However, I do know after each session they come out of the darkened room absolutely shattered and ready for a rest, but not before they’ve checked the chart to see which team/person won the game.

It gives leaders and Ron a chance for coffee and a quiet chat before once again being inundated by excitable young people waiting to be fed, before preparing to go back for another game.
