down in power. We are told there was a rush of a violent wind and tongues of fire settled on them and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. We read also that the people in the crowd heard the message of God’s mighty deeds being spoken in their own native languages. This was a sign that the message would be going out to all parts of the world. The best way for this message to be understood by the world is to have it spoken in the languages of the world.

Most of us don’t read Hebrew or Greek and therefore need to have a translation in our own language. Indeed, even the King James version of the Bible can be like a foreign language to those who have not been brought
