FILMING AND PHOTOGRAPHY T

he Institute of Chartered Accountants has made Brooklands Museum Trustees’ Chairman, Sir Gerald Acher, its Laureate for 2017 for Outstanding Lifetime Achievement. On 9th January a photographer captured some shots of the Chairman around the site’s most iconic landmarks, including Concorde, the Stratosphere Chamber and the Napier-Railton, to celebrate this and for inclusion in Economia magazine, which has a circulation of 200,000. Congratulations Sir Gerald!

On 13th January the climate was exceptionally cold, with snow and strong winds blighting most of the site. This didn’t stop a fashion shoot from going ahead featuring models in light, summer clothing, gracing the steps of Concorde and inside the Stratosphere Chamber. The shoot was for renowned formal menswear chain Hawes & Curtis, which began trading in 1913.

Saturday Science Club – Build it at Brooklands

Have you got a teen interested in engineering? Our Saturday Science Engineering Workshops will use Brooklands as the backdrop to discover some of the pioneers of the 20th century and the science behind what they designed and built. During these hands-on workshops we will be investigating aerodynamics, building wing structures and exploring gears and simple machines.
