rates than what students need,” explained Flood. “We do believe that hiring competent, professional installers (who are) experi- enced with school bus technology is important to a proper in- stallation. We do provide a detailed installation guide for districts that feel they have competent staff in-house (who are) qualified to do the install themselves.” Flood added that Kajeet is working directly with OEM bus man-


ufacturers and bus dealers—many of which install other technology along with Kajeet’s wireless technology. He said that neither OEMs nor dealers have expressed concern with wiring or engine interference.


SERVING THE RURAL 2 PERCENT, AND BEYOND With respect to connectivity, Kajeet works with all four tier-one carrier networks that already provide cellular coverage to 98 percent of the population of the United States—potentially three if the merger of Sprint into T-Mobile receives approval. Kajeet also works with school districts to evaluate carrier options in advance of purchase or deployment, to identify the best network or networks for their area.
