Iberostar adds to Balearic portfolio with Ibiza hotel

Iberostar has opened its first hotel in Ibiza as Spain’s popularity continues to thrive.
The adult-only four-star
Iberostar Santa Eulalia, on the beachfront of S’Argamassa, is the chain’s 15th in the Balearic archipelago and has undergone a €13 million renovation. The hotel is 18 kilometres outside Ibiza Town and a short distance from the popular Punta Arabí hippy markets. Its 188 rooms include eight junior suites, and the hotel features a pool area and beach club with a sun terrace. Aurelio Vázquez, Iberostar
Group’s chief executive for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: “This hotel will provide a major boost for our premium offer in the Balearic Islands, further adding to our portfolio in one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations.” Lead-in prices start at €98 per
night. Last week, Iberostar also
opened its first hotel in New York. The four-star boutique hotel at 70 Park Avenue has 205 rooms. Meanwhile, Benidorm’s Hotel
Don Pancho has reopened following renovation work. Two luxury suites have been
created on the top floor, offering private terraces and ‘infinity showers’ with sea views through a glass wall. The bars, restaurant,

Sandals commences major extension to its Barbados property
Sandals has started work on a multimillion-dollar expansion of its Dover Beach property in Barbados. A total of 222 rooms and suites
will be added to the existing 280, making the resort Sandals’ largest in the eastern Caribbean. It will also offer five new
restaurants, a new spa and wellness sanctuary, three new swimming pools and an entertainment pavilion with a bowling alley – a first for Sandals. The project is expected to be completed in November 2017. Sandals chairman Gordon
