A New Defi nition of Intimacy at The Outlook Lodge

while Pike’s Peak, the area’s most recognizable attraction, rises in the distance.

I remember the smell of the fresh air and pine trees and breath- taking views all around as we drove up steep, winding roads to get to The Outlook Lodge. The Outlook Lodge, originally constructed in 1889, has been re-imagined as a private, contemporary escape pro- viding all the necessary creature comforts while maintaining a rustic simplicity. The exterior woodwork and detailing have remained, preserving the timeless charm of its Victorian style.

If you are looking for a place for a family reunion or have a large group of friends seeking a mountain getaway – look no further than The Outlook Lodge. It is unique, peaceful, intimate and amaz- ing. Set quietly amongst the trees, the Lodge offers a wrap-around porch outfi tted with rocking chairs to while away the time, as well as a large outdoor fi re pit, the perfect gathering place for a cozy and relaxing evening outdoors. Grab your favorite bottle of wine and S’mores for the kids and you’ve got the night made. I imagined hav- ing a nostalgic retreat with 10 of my closest friends sitting around the fi re reminiscing old stories and making new memories. This is the image of The Outlook Lodge.

When you arrive, there is no front desk and actually no staff at

all! You fi nd your key to the lodge and your individual room in a lockbox on the porch. In fact, the night we were there we were the ONLY guests. Imagine having a 4,000 sq ft lodge all to yourself with a full kitchen, laundry facilities, picnic area and fi repit!

Respectful of its authentic architecture, every room in the Outlook Lodge is handsomely appointed using subdued tones and rich textures. All rooms feature hardwood fl oors, modern and mid- century furnishings, as well as original artworks by American artist, Jason Willaford. The beds were so restful and comfortable, a perfect balance of rustic and contemporary. Deluxe rooms feature custom furnishings, a double-sink vanity (designed especially for the Lodge) and cushioned bay window seating. that
