You should also remember to take a couple of test shots when setting up a new camera location. Happy trail- camming, and don’t be too distraught when raccoons make up the bulk of your image library. If you live in Eastern Ontario, you’ll get used to it.


Blind Anglers International Tournament The Blind Anglers International


Tournament (BAIT) is being hosted again this year by the Arnprior Lions Club, and runs from May 29 – May 3. The BAIT event is renowned for teaming-up pro anglers with legally blind men and women for a weekend of fish, fun and excitement. The tournament’s goal is to demonstrate abilities rather than disabilities, and has succeeded in doing so for the past 25 years. Each year the event brings together individuals who face similar challenges and encourages a renewed self-confidence among the visually impaired. It’s always impressive to see professional anglers and volunteers come together to make a difference in the lives of the visually impaired. Summer trail cam fun


After snapping hundreds of thousands of trail camera images over the years and setting up wildlife surveillance in a variety of situations, I have learned a few things along the way. Regardless of which model trail cam you choose and where it’s located, there are some small subtleties you should keep in mind. Once you’ve found a good SD card that works well in your trail cam, for example, stick with it. Also, when switching-out cards, be sure to re-

National Fishing Week July marks the arrival of National Fishing Week, and area anglers are being reminded what our beloved sport is really all about. The goal of NFW is to introduce anglers to this special activity we call sport-fishing. Between July 4 and 12, everyone is encouraged to plan a fishing day at your nearest stream, pond, river or lake and no fishing license is required.
