Ignitability EN ISO 45892 Oxygen Index Test
The Oxygen Index test is specified in EN 455452 for testing ignitability of listed and nonlisted plastic products,
e.g. internal and external seals, isolators, and PCBs. It is also one of the most economical and precise quality control tests for combustible materials. Its ease of use together with high levels of precision has made this technique a primary characterising quality control tool to the plastic and electric cable industries and it has been specified by several military and transport groups. The technique measures the minimum percentage of oxygen in the test atmosphere that is required to marginally support combustion.

EN ISO 60695211 Glow Wire Test
The EN 455452 specifies the EN ISO 60695211 Glow Wire Test to test printed circuit boards without any attached technical equipment.
Inside this apparatus, a resistance wire is electrically heated to a specified temperature which is adjustable. The specimen tested is brought into contact with this glowwire by a motordriven sliding carriage. At the end of the prescribed time the specimen is automatically returned to the starting position. Observations and measurement are made to evaluate the ignition temperature which needs to be ≥ 850⁰C to meet the standard requirement.
The FTT Glow Wire Test Apparatus is fully automatic and features a 5.5" full colour touchscreen panel with HMI software control, and a builtin digital processor control unit to control glowwire application time, test duration and to record flame timing.
