EN 6033212 and EN 60332324 Vertical Flame Propagation Test Apparatuses

According to EN 455452, the fire behaviour and the flame impingement duration of cables should be tested and evaluated in respect to the diameter of the cables in question.

In addition, these cables are separated into two groups: I. Cables for Interior (Requirement category R15)

II. Cables for Exterior (Requirement category R16)

For both interior and exterior cable products, the vertical flame spread is tested to EN 6033212 and EN 60332324. The pass / fail criteria are the same for both interior and exterior cables for all three hazard levels. EN 6033212 is used as a preliminary test for all vertically mounted single cables and EN 60332324 is used for testing vertically mounted bunched cables.
