I spread a liberal amount of the Jeweler’s Rouge on a glass plate and began slowly, almost lovingly, stroking the blade along the glass. I continued until the phone rang. It was the chemical lab; they were sending someone with my test results.
I had time for only one more thing. As you know, I have a large, bench-mounted magnifying glass in my lab; it has a curved, fluorescent light surrounding the lens.
I wanted to see, I needed to see the results of my ob- session. As you almost certainly have guessed by now, it was this final action that would lead to my horrible injury.
When I arrived at the magnifying lens, I immediately turned on the fluorescent light, put the blade under the lens, bent over and looked directly at the knife blade. The injury happened so quickly I didn’t even notice it at first, there was no pain. I found that I had gotten that knife so sharp, that when I looked at it, that terribly sharp blade, actually cut my vision in half.
Fortunately I had read about a world famous team of eye surgeons who are located in south-central Wyoming: Dr. Angler and Dr. Trout.
It turns out that they can completely restore my vi- sion, but I must leave immediately. The treatment is expected to take about two weeks.
I spread a liberal amount of the Jeweler’s Rouge on a glass plate and began slowly, almost lovingly, stroking the blade along the glass. I continued until the phone rang. It was the chemical lab; they were sending someone with my test results.
Your faithful and obedient servant.
