business to create one seriously good beer.

Long before Tom Green became

a household name for his ridiculous antics and the shock comedy that became the blueprint for a lot of what we see on “reality TV”, he creatively embraced music, performing as MC Bones in the rap group “Organized Rhyme”. The song Check The O.R was nominated for a Juno back in 1993. He has since produced more recordings with the band and as a solo artist. Who can forget the outrageous Daddy Would You Like Some Sausage? song from the movie “Freddy Got Fingered” − truly one of a kind, mad genius. While Greener Futures beers

have a more subdued visual appeal, the original portrait artwork captures the spirit of Tom Green perfectly. So, with This is The Tom Green

Beer, It’s not the Green Tom Beer clearly stuck in my head, I crack open the bottle and proceed to pour. The beer is a deep dark chestnut

brown with a thick mocha head that sticks around for a few minutes. Aromas of roasty malts, chocolate milk (or milk chocolate?), vanilla and tobacco come before tastes of espresso, and chocolate, displaying a really nice depth of intermingling flavours. The luxurious, velvety smooth, medium/ light body sees the sweetness up front meet refined roast flavours. This gives it a nicely balanced bitterness in its short lingering finish. Due to popular demand, the

original (non-barrel aged) version of this beer will be available again this fall. If you can get your hands on both together, it’s a really cool experiment to do a vertical tasting of the two side by side to see how three months of barrel-aging imparts new and interesting flavours of the beer. Also coming back by popular

demand is The Tom Green Show on American TV this fall − which may give you the perfect opportunity to laugh so hard that milk (stout) shoots out your nose.
