Free Customised Retrofit Brochure Inspires Eco-friendly Improvements


A new retrofit sales brochure from Golden Coast is inspiring Britain’s estimated 215,000 private pool owners to upgrade their pools with green technologies... and the UK’s many installers to profit from this often overlooked market. Entitled ‘Ideas and inspiration for improving your pool’, it takes the form of a glossy, full-colour brochure that focuses largely on making pools more eco-friendly and energy efficient.


This latest marketing tool from Golden Coast will help pool suppliers take full advantage of the upselling opportunities available. The brochure can be branded – free of charge – with the supplier’s own logo – immediately equipping businesses with customer-facing literature specifically developed to encourage customers to upgrade. “Through our more than 35 years serving the industry, we’ve learned that any pool can


be improved,” says Golden Coast’s Managing Director Jamie Adams. “For installers, the need to replace worn or inefficient equipment – together with owners’ desires to enhance their experience through additional or better features – means that pools can and should continue to be a source of income long after initial installation.


“Alongside these drivers, there’s an ever- growing trend towards making everything ‘greener’ and the closely linked incentive to reduce energy bills, water consumption and other ongoing costs. This means that it should be very easy to sell things like automatic and solar-powered pool covers, MultiCyclone pre- filter units, solar heating, heat pumps and LED lighting – as long as pool owners know about them,” explains Jamie Adams. “As well as answering the demand for environmental friendliness, our supplier-


Double Local Splash for Hippo!!

Hippo created a splash at two local leisure centres just in time for the summer. The installation of a pirate themed Water Factory has revived the leisure pool at Torquay Riviera Centre, whilst Hippo’s ever popular interactive play panels have brightened up Saltash Leisure Centre.


The pool’s beach area at Riviera Centre has been transformed into a Water Factory that will encourage water confidence and swimming in children of all ages and abilities. The Water Factory comprises a Waterball with two arms (water wheel and shark shower) and a span arm arch (water wheels, small and large tipping buckets, pelican squirt) which joins to a short mast. Both high and low level play will provide plenty of anticipation and surprises! It is anticipated that the play features will bring increased visitor numbers and revenue to the centre. Riviera Centre is already planning a second interactive play installation to include expanding the Waterball with another mast and large tipping bucket with splash board. The redundant baby pool will also be rejuvenated with a selection of Hippo splash toys including interactive play panels. Saltash Leisure Centre has recently seen the installation of three bright and colourful interactive play panels; Diver, Who Pairs Wins and Splash. The panels provide auditory and tactile stimuli as well as incorporating an educational element to play. Saltash will be able to use the play panels to bring excitement to family and fun sessions and to encourage water confidence in the toddler and special needs user groups. Hippo is able to offer a fantastic range of interactive water play features to pools both locally and throughout the UK. Features can be customised to suit most pools and accommodate a range of budgets.

SCP (UK) Ltd Opens Refurbished Trade Counter and New After Sales Service Technical Department


SCP (UK) Ltd have reinforced their front line targeting customers that use their Trade Counter Service on a daily basis. Added to this SCP (UK) Ltd now provide a bespoke After Sales Service Technical Department which adds value and provides customer support which aims to be second to none.


The refurbished trade counter continues to offer the complete range of products in order to service and support the SCP (UK) Ltd local business network in the immediate areas. There will also be a new Water Treatment testing facility for all customers, providing nine key results. A documented record will be provided to each customer with specific recommendations to correct any relative issue. In addition there will be specific trade counter special offers, extensive product information and free complimentary refreshments. The new After Sales Service


Technical Department was set up to keep up with rising demand and managed by Dan Creasey who will provide after sales technical service on specific vendor produc ts, as well as offering a general repair service including for pool cleaners.


Dan joined SCP on 2 April and has already undergone his technical training with Maytronics, Pentair, Zodiac and Hayward to ensure a first class repair and warranty service. Dan will also be the first point of contact for warranty issues related to SCP’s Gatwick Branch on all core products. He previously worked with SCP in it’s hot tub division in Horsham.
